An 1820 chapbook which tells the history of Simple Simon. These images look a great deal like the ones created for Nonsuch. Take the image to the right, flip it - replace rider with monkey, and horse with pig and you've pretty much got The Smartest Monkeys. Wonder if Simple Simon was ever a mayor?
